Mary Monteleone

Company Ballet Instructor

Mary Monteleone is a native of New Orleans where she received her training at Giacobbe Academy of Dance. She has also studied on scholarship at the School of American Ballet and the Harkness Ballet school in New York.

She was a trainee for the Harkness Ballet Company, studying under David Howard, Maria Vegh, Elizabeth Carroll and Ronn Forella. She then returned to New Orleans to perform with Delta Festival Ballet, dancing lead roles in many works including “Les Sylphides”, “Swan Lake”, “Sleeping Beauty”, “Snow White”, and “Cake Walk”.

Mary has also performed with Tulane Summer Lyric Theatre in their productions of “Gigi”, “Oklahoma”, “Student Prince” and “Oliver!”. New Orleans Opera performance credits include “Carmen” and “Aida”.

A longtime member of the faculty of Giacobbe Academy of Dance, she thoroughly enjoys the challenges and rewards of teaching.
